Some of the information is from family records and some was gathered by us from headstones and other markers that we found by searching cemeteries. The GPS coordinate data were collected by me in the field using a Garmin Rino 130 GPS receiver.
California birth and death records were found through my subscription to the Ancestry.com website. Census records were also gotten through Ancestry.com. There were many anonymous listings for the family in the Monterey County area that I found at the Familysearch.org website (Church of LDS).
Some historical information about family and Azorean immigrants in general was found by doing online searches. Good sites for information about Azorean immigrants were http://wwwlibrary.csustan.edu/bsantos/azorean.html and http://www.library.csustan.edu/bsantos/sketch2.html , websites by Robert Santos of CSU, Stanislaus. One part of the family was mentioned in his article. He mentioned Annie Phillips Bordges and her father Joseph Phillips in his profile of Annie's husband Antone Bordges.
Satellite and aerial views of the cemeteries were found at TerraServer.com and using the Google Earth browser.
